Traffic light

Episode 1.

Traffic light:

It was just another day when I was travelling to office. Same road, same time and yes, same signal junctions. But amongst all these things, there is one thing which never remains same, the people with whom I was sharing the traffic that day.

It may sound similar or a known story, but I decided to pen it down. Thinking it may relate to one of your journey stories, or it may not be.

Well, refreshing my thoughts, I am writing this page for that traveller whom I believe, I will never met him again. Because I believe we are surrounded by huge crowd and every day we see new unfamiliar faces. With no exception to that usual day, I was stuck in traffic signal somewhere, oops! I don’t want to share that very location details, what if he came across my blog? Anyways, he will never know because he doesn’t have this information.

So, coming back to the story, I was waiting for the signal to turn green, like everybody does. It was a rush hour. Office time you see! He was driving his grey coloured Hyundai i10, I believe.  Since the signal was for more than a minute, I shifted the gear on neutral and was taking a small pause. I looked up on the rear-view mirror and noticed a grey coloured car was driving swiftly from behind giving good cuts to fellow riders and moving ahead. Ding Dong! lights were about to turn green. I switched to first gear and broom! One should not stop during a signal cross, so I pedalled the accelerator to that much only so that I could shift the gear from first to second and pass that junction safely within the limit. I didn’t notice much of that car, because I have to look forward as well.

But then comes the next stop. Tick tock! another time slap of 100 seconds! Oh! I just noticed that chasing car on my left. He (the person on the steering wheel) was wearing light yellow checkered full sleeve shirt, sleeves were rolled to his elbow, he was having moderately fair complexation, hairs being set neatly, (I think he used gel) and was having beard chin. He had his window rolled down and his hand was hanging a bit outside. I looked at him, and eyes on the road again. I think, he saw! He caught me looking at him. Hmm! I don’t know why I smiled when he caught me, was that wrong? I should not have smiled. What do you think?

There started the sweet chase game. Either he was crossing me, or I was crossing him.  In the next stop, he reached a bit early, and I stopped my car behind on his right. I understood that he was looking for me and we looked at each other finally, stupidly exchanging smiles. Well, that was the last stop though we didn’t say bye, but our paths were different. I took a straight road for my destination, and he took a right turn. I didn’t dare to look back as I must move forward on the road as well as like other chapters of life. Without even saying a word, I think exchanging smiles did the job then.

For that day, I think if we would have met, the story would have been a different one.

That is one side of a traffic light story. See you next time.
